Sold-Out Interstellar 10 Concert Tour Comes to Vancouver

Interstellar’s Original Organist Roger Sayer Performs for One Night Only

September 10, 2024, Vancouver, BC — Music lovers and fans of the movie Interstellar rejoice! Roger Sayer, the organ soloist for the Oscar-nominated score, will perform in Vancouver for one night only. On October 25, the Interstellar 10 Organ Concert Tour concludes its Canadian leg at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church in Downtown Vancouver.

In 2014, Sayer worked with Hans Zimmer to create the soundtrack for the blockbuster film Interstellar. Since then, the music from the movie has developed a huge following, introducing the organ to many audiences for the first time. Sayer is celebrating the movie’s 10th anniversary with a worldwide Interstellar 10 Concert Tour, having presented to sold-out audiences in Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Presented by the Royal Canadian College of Organists, the Canadian Interstellar 10 tour consists of five stops, with Vancouver being the last stop on October 25.

The Funk Hunters Headlines Uptown Live on July 27

June 6, 2024, New Westminster, BC — The Funk Hunters, Side One, Sambacouver and Andrew Allen – these artists will hit the main stage in Uptown New West on July 27. Uptown Live is excited to announce the full musician line-up for the free street music festival.

In a sea of carbon-copy producers, The Funk Hunters have cultivated their signature sound by creating forward-thinking electronic music that is influenced by old school funk, soul and hip-hop. Side One is a unique band that can play just about every genre of music imaginable to get you on the dance floor. Pioneers of Brazilian music in Vancouver, Sambacouver brings the most vibrant rhythms of Brazilian carnival music. With his dynamic performances and engaging stage presence, singer-songwriter Andrew Allen has toured with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

“We have multiple stages throughout the festival grounds with live music all evening long,” says Bart Slotman, President of the Board for the Uptown Business Association (UBA), the non-profit business association hosting Uptown Live. “We are thrilled with this line-up and we can’t wait!”

Uptown Live Returns July 27, 2024

May 10, 2024, New Westminster, BC — Uptown Live is back! Presented by TD Bank Group, the 13th Annual Uptown Live returns on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the intersection of 6th Street and 6th Avenue in New Westminster.

“We are shaking things up this year,” says Bart Slotman, President of the Board for the Uptown Business Association (UBA), the non-profit business association for the uptown neighhourhood of New West. UBA has hired a new event management company, Mind Over Mountain Event Co., to oversee the production of Uptown Live. “The event will be from 4:00pm to 9:30pm, with an incredible line-up of music and entertainment sure to keep the crowd on their feet all evening long.”

In addition to live music on multiple stages, Uptown Live will have interactive community exhibits, local artisan vendors, a wide selection of tasty food trucks, as well as fun and entertainment for everyone. All conveniently located in the walkable, transit-accessible neighbourhood of Uptown New West that is also filled with unique local businesses and restaurants.
