2023 BC Live Spot Prawns Pre-ordering Now Open
Pickup at Ladner Wharf or Greater Vancouver Home Delivery
April 17, 2023, Ladner, BC — BC Live Spot Prawns & Seafood is excited to announce that pre-orders for the 2023 live spot prawn season are now open on its website. Limited pre-order slots are available for Ladner pickup or Greater Vancouver home delivery starting May 16.
“Everyone always looks forward to the live spot prawn season,” says Darin Chung of BC Live Spot Prawns & Seafood (BCLSPS), a small business based out of Ladner. “We appreciate the support from our customers and the community over the last few years, and we can’t wait to bring BC live spot prawns from our boats to everyone’s dinner table again!”
BCLSPS provides wild-caught, sustainable, antibiotic-free and hormone-free seafood directly from fishermen to customers. The company was the pioneer in introducing home delivery of live spot prawns in 2020 so customers could enjoy the tasty delicacy in the comfort of their own homes. Despite the rising operating costs, including a 20-30% increase in licensing fees, and inflation on bait and fuel prices, BCLSPS aims to keep the prices reasonable for its customers.
“It is our goal to try to hold prices close to last year’s,” adds Chung. “There is also a high demand for export, but we will keep our prawns local for everyone to enjoy.”
BCLSPS does not grade its spot prawns and the spot prawns are fishermen-direct. That means customers can expect to find large and XL spot prawns in their order, directly from the daily catch.
